GFH Alia National School’s campus sits in Block 910, West Riffa. The site has been chosen and shaped around what teaching at Alia requires: classrooms designed for individual attention, spaces for specialist support, and room for children to be children.
GFH Alia National School follows an American curriculum, combined with the Bahrain Ministry of Education syllabus for Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Social Studies. The school is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and also holds the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) and ASDAN accreditation.
Where we are
Block 910, West Riffa places the school in one of Bahrain’s most established residential districts, well connected to the wider Kingdom and accessible for families across Manama, Riffa, and the southern towns.
Riffa is a considered choice, not a convenient one. The area has the space a school of Alia’s ambition needs, the infrastructure for a growing student body, and the character of a community rather than a business district.
How the campus supports teaching
Every school claims its facilities matter. What matters at Alia is whether the space serves how the school teaches.
The teaching principles are specific. Every child is taught as an individual. Every child is known. Every child is taught at the right level. The campus is arranged to make those principles operational, not aspirational.
- Classrooms sized for teachers to know every student, with room to work in small groups and one-to-one when the lesson calls for it.
- Learning Support integrated across the site, not siloed. Specialist spaces sit alongside mainstream classrooms so children move between them naturally.
- Arabic and Islamic Studies taught in dedicated specialist spaces, given the same standing as every other core subject.
- Early Years spaces designed for the age, indoor and outdoor learning treated with equal weight.
- Senior spaces built for the demands of Grades 9 to 12, from science practicals to independent study.

Getting to us
Block 910 is accessible from all major routes into Riffa. Parents visiting for the first time can request directions and parking information from the admissions team. A location map and detailed directions are on the Contact page.

The best way to see the campus
Photographs of a school tell you what the walls look like. They cannot tell you what happens between them. The best way to understand what Alia’s campus feels like is to walk through it during a normal school day.
