GFH Alia National School follows an American curriculum, combined with the Bahrain Ministry of Education syllabus for Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Social Studies. The school is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and also holds the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) and ASDAN accreditation.

Founded in collaboration with the Bahrain Society for Children with Behavioral and Communication Difficulties.
Early Years
Developed specialist expertise supporting children with autism, communication difficulties, and diverse learning needs.
Growth
Expanded educational provision and developed an inclusive educational philosophy based on teaching every child as an individual.

Established a full American curriculum school while maintaining specialist expertise in Learning Support.

Serving Nursery through Grade 12 with international accreditation and inclusive pathways.

Opening the new purpose-built campus in West Riffa and continuing to expand opportunities for every learner.
Where It Began
The story starts in 2004, with the founding of a specialist centre in Bahrain for children with autism and communication difficulties. At that time, families across the Kingdom had few places to turn. Understanding of how these children learned was limited, and support was scarce.
The centre took a different approach. It insisted that every child could learn, given the right teaching. It brought in international consultants to train its staff to clinical standards. It refused to lower expectations for children other systems had given up on. And it treated families as partners in the work, not recipients of it.
What Our Journey Taught Us
Twenty years of teaching children who did not fit into standard classrooms produced a specific conviction. Every child, however they learn, deserves to be taught as an individual. Every child can be stretched. And no child, from the most complex to the most competent, should be lost in a system that only notices the loudest voices. Those beliefs turned out to be true of children generally, not only of those the centre had begun with.

Building a School for Every Child
GFH Alia National School was created to apply that conviction to a full mainstream education, held to real academic standards and taught by specialists who understood how children actually learn. The school kept its specialist expertise, contained in a dedicated Learning Support section, while its identity became something wider: a school that teaches every child as an individual, at the right level, with the attention to make high expectations reachable.

Where We Stand Today
GFH Alia National School serves families across Bahrain from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12. It carries three international accreditations, aligns with the Bahrain Ministry of Education, and continues to develop its offering year by year.
The next chapter is a new campus. GFH Alia National School is moving to Block 910 in West Riffa, a purpose-considered site that will house the school as it grows. The move marks a genuine shift, from a school defined by what it teaches to one able to shape the environment around that teaching.
What has not changed is the founding conviction: every child taught as an individual, every child known, the bar held high with the attention to reach it.
